Pre-sale?, and a boxset in a pear tree and Jace...

So Smashwords has some new gimmick called a pre-sale, here's the link if you want to check out the early release of 'The Complete Book of Ellipses and Tea."  I'm not sure it is all that exciting for no name self-published authors, but it is basically a pre-order with immediate fulfillment, though I'm not sure what the advantages are over just releasing the book immediately!  It's the box set of the Tea books along with the short cross over novel featuring Jace from the 'In Shadow' books.  Enjoy!

Projects...

I don't know what will happen with my crossover story 'Of Tea and Shadows,' I thought a short story, or maybe a novella, but it may turn into a stand alone book!  I know you can't wait, but we'll see how long it takes me, in the meantime you may want to brush up on both series!

Break out thy Christmas Music!

It's that time of year again, prepare ye the way for the Christmas music!  I'll eventually get the Tea books compiled into a single volume and update what needs updating, but until then, mull over some classic festal tunes!

Tea Three

It's out, once all the fanfare and media chaos dies down, find a copy of the third 'Book of Tea' at your favorite (non-amazon) digital bookseller!  Number two is on sale too at Smashwords.

All the rage?

As if I don't have enough to do, how about a "Tea" and "Shadow" crossover story?  It's just an idea at this point, we'll see what happens, if anything.  A short story, a novella, or even a stand alone book?  Anybody want to ghost write and is willing to work for the mere thrill of it?

You knew it was coming!

Yes, it is coming, the Great Three Volume Novel of Our Age, or rather the third volume of the Tea and Things series.  It was inevitable, written into the very fabric of creation as it is, or is that the Second Law of Thermodynamics?  Whatever it be, there be a book a'coming, brace yourselves!

Hear ye, hear ye!

The new book is out, 'Shadow of a Doubt,' at all your favorite retailers, though there is a free coupon at Smashwords if you are one of the first 25 purchasers!  I have also updated the Greylands and In Shadow box sets to include all the books in those series and I believe I have finally put all my books on Amazon, though the price is usually better (or free!) almost anywhere else, enjoy!

News to somebody?

I'm working on another Shadow book, I know I've technically 'finished' the series, but in this day and age of prequels, sequels, and alternate realities, what is that to me, especially considering the very nature of the Shadow?

Oh, that she had lived!

The guy who brought us Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy is at it again, apparently he's attempting the impossible, namely to finish Jane Austen's final work, 'Sanditon.'  Find the news blurb and preview here.  I've read some pretty awful Jane Austen sequels, so I am wary of anyone messing with the 'canon' but if anyone can, I suppose this gentleman can be trusted, but then I thought the same of Tolkien: the 'Lord of the Rings' movies were amazing, the Hobbit not so much, and those were finished works.  But whatever comes of the movie, you should at least familiarize yourself with the book itself, here.  It begins so very well and ends just as it might get interesting, oh that she might have lived to finish it!  While the plot isn't very exciting (what Austen novel is?) her social wit cuts like a knife.  Enjoy!

Summer is fleeting...

I hope you've read something, for fall is nigh, but it's not too late, even if it's only the philosophical maundering of Garfield the Cat, go read thee something ere the summer is o'er!

You choose

Remember those 'choose your own adventure books?'  You got to decide what the character did and went to a certain page to find out the result upon the story.  Don't you know that every book is a 'choose your own adventure?'  Albeit you can't choose the ending or what the character does at a certain point, but you do get to choose your genre, your story, your character, your adventure.  Feel like some high seas adventure: Moby Dick or Horatio Hornblower or Treasure Island.  A trek into the disquiet future: Cat's Cradle or Brave New World.  Space, history, fantasy...anything your heart would desire and more!

Les Miserables

PBS has a new Les Miserables mini series out, I've only seen half an hour of it (without any sound or close captioning) on a recent flight, but it looks good.  Go see it, or better yet, read the medium length book!

Sigh no more, ladies sigh no more...

Yes, your languishing is over, it's finally out, please don't trample one another in your haste to procure 'The Greylands: Volume VIII.'

Summer already!

In my last post it was snowing, now it's 80F, what happened to spring?  Time to get some reading done, the weeding and mowing can wait!

Almost a book...

We're getting closer, I know you can't wait, but you'll just have to...just 10000 words to go or so, that's almost a book, right?  Go read something good to speed up the interminable wait.

Rest easy

Don't worry, I found a cover image for the new Greylands book, I know you were anxious about that...

Now that the furor is over...

Wow, are you tired?  I am...what with the parades and TV appearances and the guest speaking circuit, after my hit last book (over 1 copy sold!), it may be a month or two before something else gets finished.  The nice thing about all these half finished projects is that it only takes half the time to finish a new book.  There's another volume of The Greylands in the works, so brace yourselves!

Technical difficulties abolished!

Okay, finally got the book snafu cleaned up, a minor navigational glitch in the internal hyperlinking (say that 5 times fast!).  It should be out everywhere except Amazon, to which I'll try and get around to in the next decade.  The 39 cents I make there per annum and the user-unfriendliness makes it more a chore than anything else!

We're working on it...

You can find the new book over at Smashwords, but apparently the 'meat grinder' they use to turn a word document into an ebook doesn't like my table of contents (as usual) and it has yet to pass inspection, it will be out elsewhere whenever that happens.

Imminent

As soon as I get the synopsis and all the addendums done, I'll publish the new book, but in anticipation of that, the first book in the series, 'Of Tea...and Things,' will now be free everywhere except amazon, enjoy!

Slow as continents?

It'll come when it comes I guess, the editing department is a little dilatory it seems, but we have a cover and a series name.

Rough draft done

The rough draft of my new book has just been turned in to the editor (yes, I can speak of myself in the third person!) and we'll see what happens next...besides for more snow!

Happy Lent!

My sister once gave up pants for Lent, which was weird since I'm pretty sure she's not an observant Christian and likes to wear skirts on a regular basis anyway, but perhaps in her independent spirit, whether you are religious or not, we might consider giving up TV or social media for Lent and rediscovering that archaic form of entertainment known as reading, and if you are especially curious what this season is all about, perhaps peruse The Book.

Read an ebook week

It'll soon be 'read an ebook week' over at Smashwords.com mark your calendars and look for a lot of books to be on sale or even free!

Tuesday, February 19, 2019

2/3 and?

I'm 2/3 of the way to a new book, sequel to 'Of Tea...' but still no closer to a series name or a cover...

Tuesday, February 12, 2019

Finished but not finished...

I finished my massive project of editing my already published works, but I'm only halfway through the promised new book, but then that gives you time to read the first one, 'Of Tea...and Things,' and I still need a name for the series...if I was paid hourly (or at all) I'd make a pretty good living!

A timely guest blogger!

Wow, someone wrote this article just so I could share it with you: tea and great books!  I've read 3/5 books on the list and agree that they come highly recommended, the fourth I have enjoyed other works by the author (Little Women) and will have to look into it.  You've got your assignment!

Rejoice and be glad!

I finally slogged through the entire collection, the revised editions of everything except the 'Sampler Platter' should be out at everywhere except Amazon (which I am even now going to attempt).  The 'Platter' is just too big to wrestle with for any practical reason, so you'll have to take your chances at finding a spelling or grammatical error or ten, else you can find the revised versions elsewhere!

Keep on truckin'

Someday I will get to the bottom of my editing stack, until then, just remember...'Odie cannot drive...'  Extra credit if you get the reference!
