The time has come the walrus said..

"The time has come," the walrus said, "to end this silly contest."  The Answer is:

Job 30:29 (KJV):  I am a brother to dragons, and a companion to owls.

It was really a rousing contest, thank you to all our contestants who did not enter.  If you did not win, you can still get a free copy of The Serpent and the Unicorn: Book I and II at smashwords.com.  Not quite the powerball, but definately a close second!  Remember, you get what you pay for?

Merry Christmas!

Clue #2

Either this is a really difficult contest or no one reads this blog (the more likely!).  So here is a second clue to all those of you who don't read this blog:

The entire phrase is, "I am a companion to owls, a brother to dragons."  Newer translations may render it jackals and ostriches, but I find the older translation the more poetic.  So tell me where the phrase comes from and win a free copy of my e-book (yipee!).

Clue #1

Due to underwhelming response for our wondrous contest, the first clue is hereby given:

Where does the phrase, "A companion to owls" come from?:

Clue #1: Check the oldest book in the Old Testament.

E-mail me or post to this comment to enter.  The first correct answer wins a free copy of the book of their choice from Smashwords, at least the book of their choice written by me!  What an awesome prize!  Almost as good as the Powerball...

A contest!

For all of you who don't read this blog or the nonexistant book fans, I propose a little contest and the prize will be a free copy of your choice of my e-books (via smashwords.com).  Just what everyone wants!  Yay!

The contest:

The name of my personal blog is A Companion to Owls.

The first person to correctly identify the source of that name will win.  Post here or e-mail me your answers.  Clues will sporadically appear if no one seems to be making any progress.

Good Luck!

Progress?

The books have been submitted to Amazon today, we shall see if this becomes a worldwide phenomenon or whether they get lost in the million book flood that is e-book publishing!  They will also hopefully be available elsewhere soon.
